SIMONA RUSK SHOES ARE FEATURED IN MOEVIR MAGAZINE

Regal and elegant, the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson wears the Allegra mules in a photoshoot accompanying her interview with The Telegraph Magazine to mark the publication of her first novel. Fifteen years in the making, “Her Heart for a Compass” is based on the life of the Duchess’ great-great-aunt, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott.

“The main message I would like readers to take away from Margaret’s story is that no matter whether you make mistakes or get it all wrong, you keep going and fight for what you believe is your truth,” she says in the interview. “You have to lead with your heart.”

SIMONA RUSK SHORTLISTED FOR DRAPER’S FOOTWEAR DESIGNER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Simona Rusk has been shortlisted for Footwear Designer of the Year 2021 by Draper’s magazine. The industry-leading magazine and website offer unparalleled insights and coverage of the UK fashion market and the coveted awards acknowledge outstanding performance among designers, brands and retailers in the fast-paced footwear industry. The 17 categories in this year’s awards will be judged by an independent panel of industry experts and the finalists unveiled at a glittering gala ceremony on 23 September 2021 at the Hilton London Bankside Hotel.

SIMONA RUSK WINS GOLD IN 2020 GLOBAL FOOTWEAR AWARDS

SIMONA RUSK’s Allegra mules received a Gold award in the Women’s Casual category. The romantic design and use of sustainable materials in the design stood out for jury member Monica Mei (Vera Wang). Eelko Moorer (Jury member and MA Footwear course leader at London College of Fashion) felt the use of deadstock gave the piece “a contemporary relevance in the luxury market”, while the craftsmanship, quality materials and jewellery-inspired details provided “an extra luxury aesthetic and feel”.

The Global Footwear Awards (GFA) recognizes the efforts of talented footwear designers around the world and celebrates their exceptional creations at a global scale while honouring sustainable practices that will inspire the industry as a whole. The GFA jury panel consists of leading industry professionals coming from different disciplines within the footwear industry, including publications, retailers, and institutions, providing an overall industry perspective towards the selection of the best design.

Fiona Ward, acting online fashion and beauty editor for Hello Magazine, writes that the Duchess of York paired a Beulah London dress - which has been previously worn by the Duchess of Cambridge - and a pair of mules by Simona Rusk for a recent photoshoot to promote her new book.

“The proud designer later took to Instagram to share a story behind the elegant heels, telling her followers: "I have wanted my brand and my shoes to be about being who you are. The heel is even based on a symbol for freedom of speech. It's been about following an audacious dream, mistakes, successes and all - because that's what is in my heart."
